CommUnity AmeriCorps

NE AmeriCorps logoAmeriCorps is a national program that involves participants in results-driven community service. AmeriCorps members serve full- or part-time for up to two years and receive a living allowance during their term of service. Upon completion of their service, participants receive an education award to be put toward student loans or for current educational expenses.

The Nebraska Volunteer Service Commission, established by Governor Executive Order in 1994 and funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service, is responsible for oversight and support of Nebraska's national service programming.
