Early Head Start Eligibility

Early Head Start provides services and support to low-income pregnant women and children ages birth to 3 years old. 

Age Requirement

Documentation to verify a child's age can include a birth certificate or other proof of the child's identify and age (official birth records or passport) accompanied by an affidavit explaining inability to produce the birth certificate. 

Income Requirement

Pregnant women and families must meet income guidelines and provide proof for verification.  A 2006 tax return, W-2s, or check stubs from AFDC payment will be required for income verification.  The application is not complete, and the child cannot be considered for enrollment until proof of income has been received.

Children with Special Needs

Children with special needs or disabilities can be eligible for Head Start services with or without the family meeting income requirements.
