How We Help
Imagine trying to raise a family of four on just $19,350 a year. Less than $20,000 to cover all the necessities—housing, utilities, transportation, food, child care, health care, and more—for one full year. How would you manage? It’s hard for most of us to imagine having to care for our families on such a limited income, but it’s a reality for more than 23,000 people in the City of Lincoln.
Yes, poverty is real. Every day individuals and families with low-incomes struggle to overcome the challenges of inadequate job skills, housing, health care, and the lack of knowledge and support to change their lives.
Here at Lincoln Action Program, we offer individuals and families the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive. We work with program participants and members of the community to address the causes of poverty by increasing economic independence, improving quality of life, and improving community living conditions.
We help people; we change lives.
